On 19 March, Singapore Food Agency(SFA) recalled a batch of eggs from Malaysian farms due to the detected Salmonella enteritidis bacteria that can cause food poisoning.

According to Aeon, there is no specific brand or size of the recalled eggs. "We shared this information for consumer alert. Please also be informed that the affected eggs are not by brand but traceable by batch which is CEM014," Aeon said in its Facebook statement.

Aeon also added in another comment that the affected eggs are of HLRB brand, batch CEM014.

The bacteria may cause food-borne illness when consumed raw or undercooked, thus SFA also advises people to cook them thoroughly, and to seek medical help if they fall ill after eating them.
