Laura Loomer in 'So Much Pain' From COVID After Previously Saying Food Poisoning Is Worse - Newsweek

Far-right activist Laura Loomer has described how she is in "so much pain" after contracting COVID-19, after previously hoping she would get the virus to prove its symptoms are "hyped up."

Writing on messaging app Telegram, seen by Newsweek, Loomer said she got tested because she was suffering from fever, chills, nausea, runny nose, sore throat and aches that "made my whole body feel like I got hit by a bus."

Loomer, an anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist who is running for Congress against Representative Daniel Webster in Florida, added that her symptoms reminded her of when she got the flu a few years back.

After confirming she had COVID, Loomer said that she is not vaccinated against the virus and is taking her own treatment consisting of "Azithromyacin and Hydroxychloroquine."

She is also attempting to treat the virus with deworming drug ivermectin, but "doctors are really weird about prescribing it, which p****s me off."

Ivermectin, which is used to treat both humans and animals such as horses, has not been officially approved and advised against as a COVID-19 treatment by both the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Loomer also said she was able to receive the Regeneron antibody treatment for COVID because she lives in Florida.

Giving an update to her condition on Thursday, Loomer described how her symptoms appear to be getting worse.

"Just pray for me please. Can't even begin to explain how brutal the body aches and nausea that come with covid are," she wrote. "I am in so much pain. This is honestly the worst part about it."

As noticed by a number of social media users, Loomer contracted COVID-19 after previously saying she hoped to get it to show the symptoms are no worse than food poisoning.

"I hope I get COVID so I can prove to people I've had hours of food poisoning that are more serious and life-threatening than a hyped up virus," Loomer wrote on social media site Parler in December 2020.

"Have you ever eaten bad fajitas? That will kill you faster than COVID."

The Twitter account for the MeidasTouch Super Pac shared Loomer's post along with the caption warning "you should be careful what you wish for..."

While posting on Telegram on Friday, Loomer again described how she is refusing to take the vaccine while spreading falsehoods about COVID-19 and how the treatments do not work.

Medical experts have long stated that the vaccine is the best form of protection against death and serious illness from the virus which has killed more than 670,000 people in the U.S. Around 55 percent of the population of the country have received both doses of the vaccine.

"I have COVID, and I don't regret not taking the vaccine. I will never take the vaccine. I will now have natural immunity, Regeneron antibodies, and within a few days of rest along with my ZPACK, the HCQ, combined vitamin supplements (zinc, C, D, NAC), and hopefully some ivermectin soon, I'm confident I will have a speedy recovery," Loomer wrote.

"These COVID vaccines are poison to your body and a control mechanism for the federal government to track and surveil you."

Loomer has been contacted for comment.
