Giles County issues boil water notice

GILES COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Giles County has issued a boil water notice after the water treatment plant failed routine testing that began February 29.

Residents are advised to boil any tap water or use bottled water for drinking and cooking.

As a result of the notice, Giles County Public Schools will hold a virtual school day Wednesday, March 6.

According to the County, the water treatment plant experienced a mechanical failure that was reported to the Virginia Department of Health.

The County estimate the issue to be resolved by Friday, March 8.
